Frequently Asked Questions
- Energy around carbon 1s (285 eV~) is available?
YES. Currently, photon flux at 284.5 eV (pi* region) is 6.0E6 [photons/s] (Nov. 15, 2015)
- How long does it take to measure one spectrum?
It depends on step size, area, etc. 15 min ~ 2 hour may be reasonable.
I do not recommend to measure on a spot but an area.
- Is detection of secondary electron or X-ray fluorescnece available?
Currently No. But secondary eletron will be available near future.
- How long does it take to start experiment?
- Do we need any instruction to use STXM?
Yes, except for intirial setting. Sorry, we cannot do full-time support anymore. Please read STXM control manual (Japanese only)
- How long does it take to start measurement?
Roughly 10 minutes after closing the chamber.
- Can we find coordinates of a sample with a microscope?
We recommend to use the microscope to find the sample before measurement.
Tehn the coodinates do not work. Overview photos (i.e. photo with low magnification) are enough to find the sample by STXM.
